Best known for his political thriller Z about the assassination and cover-up of a Greek political dissident, released forty years ago, Gavras is credited with creating and mastering a new genre: the political thriller. With more than a dozen films to his name, Costa-Gavras' latest is his most personal to date. Eden is West tells the story of an immigrant in Europe, who heads for Paris to find a better life.
